Steven's professional career began in the early 1990’s when he became involved in the day-to-day operations of a family-controlled group of companies which held interests in several business sectors, including Mining. Between 1988 and 1991 he ran Count International Broking, an importer and broker for a broad spectrum of goods ranging from consumer electronics to housewares, footwear and clothing. Steven’s entry into the mining arena began in 1994 when he established Mbuva Holdings. The company acted as a facilitator and distributor for mining companies.
